This
delightful 17th century hotel to the Northwest of Peterborough and south
of Stamford is a superior pit stop along the A1. Set in the delightful
unspoilt village of Wansford it overlooks the bridge that spans the
River Nene. Private fishing can be arranged. Once a handsome Coaching
Inn the attractive stone buildings have been restored and extended to
provide 50 well equipped, individually designed en suites. But it still
retains great charm, character and historic interest.
Guests can dine in the main restaurant, The Tapestry or in the less
formal Orchards conservatory brasserie. The Tapestry Restaurant is renowned
for Chef Neil Smith's quality traditional English cooking, using the
freshest ingredients. Meals range from roasts from the carving trolley
to much more vibrant cosmopolitan dishes. It is also famed for an outstanding
wine list. A Bar lunch and Vegetarian meals are available.
