away from civilisation, The Arundell Arms is an escape deep in lovely
countryside relatively near wonderful Cornish coast. Very close to Dartmoor
in a valley there is a huge variety of nature. It has been one of England's
premier fishing hotels for half a century and is renowned for 20 miles
of salmon and trout fishing along the Tamar. There are many other traditional
outside activities also available.The exciting young English chef Philip
Burgess, formerly at L'Ecu de France in London, cooks simple, vibrant
and natural food. It is traditional English and French Cuisine with
that added twist. He is creating an International reputation. Since
1961 it has been ran by Anne Voss-Bark with a personal and friendly
touch. It is warm, comfortable and relaxed. Closed 3 days, Xmas. There
are 28 bedrooms, 23 en suite and 5 annexe en suite, all with modern
facilities.
